Hello! I’m Hyunmin Park from South Korea and currently studying illustration in the UK. My passion is for children’s book illustration. Ever since I was a young child, I’ve always loved picture books, not only for the interesting stories, but also the whimsy and fabulous illustrations that accompany them. Back then, those books stimulated my imagination and enriched my childhood. As an illustrator, I want to draw happy stories that also inspire children.
My project is a children’s book titled ‘Homecoming’, aimed at young children. The story involves a fox returning to meet his family, having moved out of his parents’ house. This book is based on my own experience of leaving home and I made this book to explore the bond between family and the connection with the home.
In my practice, I love to try new methods and materials. I am interested in developing versatility as an illustrator and to keep exploring and pushing myself into new areas. I can’t wait to show you my next project!
