RAYSE aims to find a solution to the land-use war between agriculture and solar energy production. Energy production and food production are two of the most polluting and environmentally impactful human industries. Moreover, they often compete for valuable land. What if these two activities could work together, sharing space with each other and reducing our footprint on the planet?
RAYSE seeks to enable more Agrovoltaic projects in the UK, so that the sun’s rays can both generate power and grow food. A set of four publications has been produced, tailored to the perspectives and needs of: (1) farmers, (2) solar power companies, (3) Government, and (4) sustainability advisors. Together, these publications will enable the key stakeholders to see the benefits of, and play their respective roles in, the implementation of Agrovoltaics.
