The Mods: Chasing the Remains of Subculture
My outcome playfully shows that attempts to make the Mod subculture exist in the 21st century will never be accurate to core values of the original subculture. A revival of Mod in itself is a contradiction; Mods developed from Modernists – the whole ethos was about being new, young and trendy. I was interested in the irony of Mod now being retro/vintage, particularly considering its roots as something incredibly ‘modern’.
