For my outcome I created an accordion pocket book that unfolds into a mono-printed map, revealing the queer safe spaces I found throughout my project. My piece is a celebration of the places I found and the people and environments within them. I created this pocket book as a way of advertising these spaces to individuals within the queer community, but simultaneously hiding the information from people that may invade them. It’s a timeline of my journey to finding accepting spaces with a sense of community; its a pocket that contains my own individual experience of safety, depicted through colour and illustration. Overall creating this piece became more of a realisation that safety is a very personal, individual experience that cant be replicated.
