In this project, I focused in on the idea of ‘bodging’: repairing or rectifying something with little to no skill, time, and proper tools. The idea came to me after I realised I was living amongst a lot of bodged everyday objects in my own home; things that I had unknowingly developed affection for. Personally, I believe that a bodged repair is often more innovative and resourceful than a skillful one, and that it lends the object a new personality. I wanted to facilitate this process of ‘bodging’. I struck upon the idea of making a tool belt which allowed the user to easily and comfortably carry around all the necessary tools for a bodged job.
