What is the social impact of mixing and sharing cultures, traditions and their languages? In this project, I wanted to question different cultures’ social habits, values, rituals to create conversation about the importance of sharing culture. I have made a pair of metal chopsticks with stabilisers in the form of rings that also signify where to put fingers and thumbs. It aims to encourage people who want to learn how to use chopsticks, to choose to practice using them instead of using a fork when offered in a Chinese Restaurant. From my research I noticed the most common mistake people make when learning how to use Chopsticks is that they place their fingers too low, therefore not allowing much space to lift them apart from each other. So, I purposely placed the rings higher to get people to practice using them properly with the help of the rings to aid in opening and closing the chopsticks.
