For my outcome I made a tablecloth for a Tarot reader, revealing the secrets of the tarot world. My piece is a warning, a reading and a message embedded within the layers of fabric and thread. Tarot has an opportunity to be manipulative, deceptive and fraudulent when left to the hands of the reader and I wish to warn the client away from believing everything said the diviner. Tarot is a form of self-manipulation; you take from the cards what you wish, this means it can easily become dangerous and used to exploit the vulnerable. Tarot is entertainment and an excellent form of self reflection when read in the right settings. My warning is subtle to not distract from it’s beauty and the tradition of tarot.
