My overarching theme for this topic has been around the subject of wildlife and conservation looking at issues surrounding wildlife and the environment. Recently though I have been looking more at how you can understand and animal and bring it more towards you the audience. I’ve been looking mainly at British wildlife specifically the red deer at bushy park, going over numerous days to document the deer in a natural habitat. I want this piece to be looked through wearing my ‘deer gloves’ and a tactile experience for the audience and help to drive people into the outdoors, in order to appreciate the wildlife that we have constantly around us but maybe don’t realise or know are there. I want people to understand these animals and gain a deeper sense of understanding and empathy for them. Hopefully this will end up with people wanting to explore ad save their local areas.
