I have made a self-healing garment using natural healing techniques with a fusion of a Sri-Lankan and western aesthetic. The garment relieves one from feeling stressed and anxious by having attached jewellery in specific acupressure points, as well as sewn in lavender ‘smell pouches.’ The aim of my project was to create a garment that could help a young woman feel less anxious when out at an event, such as a party. As I am of Sri Lankan descent, I wanted this project to help me learn more about my own culture and pay homage to Sri Lanka’s craft-making, diversity and beliefs.

A self-healing garment for young women when going out.
