The purpose is to increase the new expansion and completeness of the Rye lane by bringing the high street to this area unlike before. At this time, the key to the design is to increase pedestrian accessibility and create a more public place by incorporating an open design that matches the surrounding terrain into the building. In addition, it focused on keeping most of the structure of the existed building rather than demolishing all buildings and rebuilding them, so that they could cohesively fit into this space. The project will lead Peckham to transform its image into a more vibrant and creative area. The purpose of this project is to fill in the empty spaces between buildings lined up along the road properly. So, it is a project that’s not about creating something completely new, but about filling in the empty space of the place that already exists.
