A new home for the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects in the City of London. A black brick and Portland Stone Livery Hall which primarily explores the ideas of Sir John Soane. The building features a heavy use of arches, domes, rooflights and stained glass. The front elevation faces East towards the centre of the city with a moody entrance vestibule setting the tone for the rest of the building. Main spaces inside include a vaulted top lit Hall and heavily panelled Court Room on the third accessed via a grand staircase inspired by the roman mechanics of Italy’s aqueducts.
