Questioning freedom, ‘Pipiname’ is a comment on how the recent development of technology is tainting one’s connection to nature. I was inspired by video artist Nam June Paik’s ‘TV Garden’ and Pipilotti Rist to explore the relationship between nature and technology in our society. I feel that with technological advances such as VR , many people are drifting away from the natural world and into a reality on a screen. I created an experimental and distorted film of nature to comment on how many people see and treat nature today. This film is immersed inside a flowerbed of both fake and real plants to continue the comparison of fake and real reality; technology and nature.
