Saudade is a series depicting the feelings of heartbreak through poetic black and white imagery. Memories of love, longing for a better future and dealing with the present. Saudade is about processing these feelings as a way of coping. This project began as a way of dealing with what happened and trying to be vulnerable with my art. I wanted to create an emotional series of images that made the viewer feel something and see themselves within the images. Using conceptual and street photography, as well as pictorialist techniques to create a painterly like atmosphere within my images I was able to create a series of images that evoked the melancholy feeling of saudade.
