set in (e)motion is a semi-instructional, meditative spoken word piece, layered over an echoey soundscape of harmonic humming. This is played through one set of headphones to create an isolating experience, where the listener can move from their physical environment into a meditative space, due to the ritualistic and cathartic nature of voices that slowly fade in and out. This is installed alongside a window lined with yellow acetate to demarcate an intangible space using natural light, that moves throughout the day, casting coloured light over other works in the show. This piece explores the emotional experience of being an empath in both retrospect – with notions of healing by untangling one’s emotions from those of others – and current time, with techniques and visualisations to take with you.
