Over the course of the past three years I have explored the concept of story telling through my friends and family. Each person has their individual story to tell and with each series I am able to give a personal perspective into their lives.
The photographic specialism that inspires my work and that I would like to continue to practice at post graduate level comes down to different techniques and genres; portraiture, cinematography, lightings and staging.
The theme of my images, in most cases use the themes of fiction, emotion and storytelling, through portraiture. Most of my photographs are of those who are closest to me, I find this to be easier when it comes to being able to imagine a new fiction and create new worlds that feel intimate and personal. This then also helps the viewer relate and feel the same emotions as the models in the pictures.
