Open-source guidebook with tools to help organisations and changemakers engage with local communities to drive sustainable local change. Interactive workshops are strategically designed to address global issues like the cost-of-living crisis and climate change, using participatory approaches. The aim of the workshops is to co-create visions and policies on alternate financial systems to build a post-consumeristic economy. The project stemmed from the UK Government’s new ‘levelling-up’ agenda, and provides a new format to enable local governments to make better public policies.

Stories are used to spark speculative and meaningful conversations about important socio-political and socio-economic issues in our world. The humorous stories are based on hybrid realities, to prompt us to reflect on alternative financial systems such as ‘ESG’ (Environmental, Social, and Governance – a corporate reporting framework), time banks, cryptocurrencies, and Universal Basic Income. The typeface used in the stories mimics financial bills and receipts.
