During the covid-19 lockdown in the UK, an international student, Julie, is bothered by a mouse in her flat. She buys some rat poison to kill it, but ends up becoming friends with the mouse and naming it Hugh. However, the mouse accidentally eats the poison and disappears, which breaks Julie’s heart. In general, the story is about solitude and isolation during the lockdown and how people deal with it.
It is a story of isolation and solitude but expressed in a light-hearted, funny way. The story uses an invisible mouse to stir up various emotions in the heroine during the isolated lockdown of the pandemic, and in turn, shows how she deals with them.
