I have designed a large publication that is exactly 145 times smaller than the international space station with scaled down dimensions. It consists of three chapters all touching on the different senses and emotions of a life beyond earth. I told the story living on the other side of the sky through language from people’s experiences on Earth to make its more digestible. Through research, especially reading NASA’s journals, I developed an initial understanding of life and routine on the ISS. I then pulled language from comparable experiences of people’s everyday life on earth. For example, both miners and astronauts have no indication of night or day when working.
